Bought land in Marloth Park - 2005. Got a quote from Peet, accepted the quote & asked your man to build the house. Innitially Peet agreed to start building without a deposit, then later insisted on a deposit. My father applied at Absa bank to get a building loan, got approved on certain conditions from the builder. Peet & Rika insisted on a deposit whilst waiting for approval. My father didn't have funds & applied for a personal loan to pay the deposit. The bank would then pay off the personal loan when the money from the building loan got paid out. The builders wife phoned the bank numerous times to find out when they will deposit the money into their account. My father kept phoning Peet & asked for the Cert as well as for the builder to make an appointment with the inspector. The bank then transferred the funds into the given account, different from the company me father initially did the agreement with. As soon as they received the funds, my father kept calling & asking to fax the Cert. They eventually faxed through the cert, but has already expired. My dad called them again & Peet told him to get someone else to build the house. We went to legal way & they got away with our money...
