Took a working computer there and they broke it

I took both my macbook and my wife's macbook pro there for a routine software update. the previous evening, we both backed up sensitive information etc. Took in the two laptops. Receptionist filling in the job card checked laptops for external scratches, but she didn't switch them on. We get a call from the technician later that my wife's macbook pro won't start up. He phones two days later and says the motherboard is broken, and might as well buy a new one. So what became a routine upgrade ended up with them wanting us to buy a new machine. I would have thought any place that knows what it's doing would check that the laptops switched on before they took them in. I will take this further. Avoid Digicape at all costs, they break stuff instead of fixing it.
