Our Dodge Nitro had bad carpet wear and NOT from normal use, this according to the HEAD OFFICE of Chrysler as is written below. Our carpet wore down twice to shreds, they did replaced it the first time after 60 odd thousand Km, and within the next 30 thousand it started again and after complaining the below is the reason given...

The information that you received from the dealer about rejecting your claim was not accurate and sincerely apologise for that.
The reason why the vehicle comes equipped with additional overlay mats is due to the fact that the original floor covering carpet is thin and not made to be durable enough to sustain constant pressure/contact in one area from the likes of customers feet.
The letter does go on to explain how you should not put your feet on the carpet and how the warrantee was MORE than honoured, I still drive the same car and still have not found a suitable place other than the carpet to put my feet.
