Volkswagen
Dealer Refuses to Honour Agreement

In December 2012, I purchased a 2011 Jetta 1.2 TSi. As I was initially not in the market for a pre-used vehicle, I had to ensure that all service details relating to warranty and maintenance were in place. Michelle Pienaar (Saleslady @ Gateway VW), included this information in her sales pitch: Even though the vehicle had 24, 900km on the odometer, it still had a full "MAINTENANCE PLAN" up to 90, 000km. I have documentation to prove that this is what she implied. When the vehicle was booked in for its 30, 000km service, I was contacted regarding payment for brake pads. This is when I was told that the car only had a service plan, not a maintenance plan. I presented the service department with the documentation I had, and they replaced the braked pads free of charge due to the error Michelle had made. Since then I have been in contact with the dealer principal and Michelle, and they REFUSE to honor the agreement. The Maintenance Plan included were even mentioned to my parents before purchasing this car. I would NOT have bought a used car without a maintenance plan. The dealer principal even told me this morning to go ahead and lodge a complaint. Wish I could upload the proof!!
