Bought an Amarok from Hatfield VW.Some (not all) faults: Paintwork. Poor panel fit. Windnoise. Vibrating Propshaft. Rattling seats. ECU problems. Diff whine. Faulty battery. I was without the vehicle for 3 months while dealer and VWSA tried to rectify. Replaced rear axle. Replaced LF seat. Do not know if all problems rectified. Dealer left keys in ignition and vehicle from Workshop. Dealer Insurance would not pay. Less than 10 000 km's. My insurance had to pay. I lost out on Metallic paint and Insurance record. VWSA response appalling. Claimed they were acting "In terms of warranty obligations".
Vehicle replaced with white one which I did not want, so sold it same day to a friend. Diesel pump packed up. Airvent fell out before 10 000 K's window winder erratic.
Bought another in metallic from another dealer. No better. Less than 10 000K's.3 Weeks in repair shop. Subequently waiting for two months to repace faulty springpacks (Campaign from factory), Window winder mechanism faulty. Vibrating propshaft (Campaign from factory). Rattle/clonking in rear suspension. Dealer unable to repair. DON'T BUY ONE.THEY CAUGHT ME THREE TIMES.WATCH OUT.THE PROBLEMS ARE NOT ISOLATED.SPEAK TO OTHER OWNERS FIRST!!!
