I hired a car form first car rental in December 2012. I now get an email out of the blue saying that there was accident damage and they want an administration fee of R450!
When I query this I am told that this was due to a missing hubcap. Strangely enough the supporting documentation they give me relates to the replacement of a bumper! I washed the car myself before taking it back and I personally washed all four hubcaps. Yes there was bumper damage that was there when we took the car out initially and we marked it on the contract.
So how do they check the car when you hand it back to them release your deposit and then two months down the line decided there is damage to the bumper (which was pointed out when we picked up the vehicle and marked on the contract) and charge it against your credit card. It is!
I will not drop this matter.
