Our family purchased three VW Passat 2.0 TDI motor vehicles. My mother's car and my wife's car have experienced almost identical problems through their short life span. Injectors faulty, airconditioner compressors requiring replacement, intermittent loss of power, intermittent warning lights coming up, turbo requiring replacement.
The final cherry on the cake was when my mother's car spent two months in the workshop, for various reasons. The one was that VW had a recall on injectors, but they never has the parts to correct the problem. Well eventually my mother's car was returned. On driving home today, she once again lost power and was placed in a situation in her driveway, where as a result of the cars intermittent problem, she was held up at gunpoint.
The same day, my wife experienced the loss of power again, despite her injectors being replaced.
I drive an Audi, Nissan and Hyundai and have received excellent service at all times from them. Besides that they are all reliable and never let me down. The same cannot be said of the VW Passat.
