A few weeks ago my car went in for repair / replacement of the the gearbox. After accepting their quote, a week later i was advised that the cv joints were damaged and could not be put back, i was quoted approx. R5000.00. Today after 3 weeks i am advised that the drive shaft is faulty and an additional R5000.00 need to be paid. The initial job was not done due to back order of parts. Today i am told that if i accept the additional quote it will speed up my parts delivery. How does the one affect the other? Mayfair gearbox either is taking me for a ride or is just very inefficient. Really unhappy with their service and attitude and now i am at their mercy. Will never recommend Mayfair Gearbox to anyone.
