Worst service experience ever PG glass Durban

My BMW was booked this Saturday morning at 8am to replace the front windscreen. I arrived on time and was told to park the car inside the workshop and return after 3 hours or wait in the reception area. I refused either one instruction as I wanted to remain by my car to ensure that the fitters don't scratch or damage my car.
I often experienced this as companies fail to taken responsibility should their incompetent staff damage customers properties. The fitter then phoned his manager "Logan" and Logan then insisted that I leave the workshop area as my safety was at risk or return on Monday when he is present. I found this strange as I am an adult person and surely wont run around like a little kid that would endanger my life. He then became very rude on the phone and that's when I told him to keep his windscreen as there are many other fitment centres in Durban. The car belongs to ME and surely no one in their right sense of mind can ask me to leave it and return.
I STRONGLY URGE CONSUMERS NOT TO TOLERATE THIS STRANGE RULES AND REGULATIONS THAT COMPANIES HAVE. WHY MUST YOU LEAVE YOUR CAR WITH THEM??? ONLY TO RETURN AND TO FIND A SCRATCH THAT WAS NOT THERE. THATS BULL DUST...
