I bought a car 6 months ago from Sunil Sewpersad who took me to Approved Auto in Umgeni Road to get the finance done. I relocated to Jhb the next day. All I knew about the car before I bought it was that it was in a fender-bender (cosmetic damage) and the bonnet, bumper and right-headlight was replaced. The right headlight wasn't working but while in the process of getting quotes to repair the headlight, I found out that the right chassis leg had been repaired. I contacted the dealer and they denied the chassis repair saying if I want a refund I had to pay R5-50/km according to the contract. I then paid for a DEKRA (AA) report confirming the chassis repair and the dealers stopped denying it but tried to assist with a vehicle substitution to buy more time. They later said that they don't have any substitute vehicle (2 months ago). Since then they have not made an effort to contact me and they are clearly not interested in resolving the matter. It's a headache contacting them because Sunil says there's nothing he can do and I should take the car back to Approved Auto. Yasmin Sayed Hassan (Finance Manager at Approved Auto) is too "busy" to reply to emails or return my calls.
