We ordered a new Rav4 on the 16th of August at McCarthy Toyota instead of Barloworld Toyota due to a 2 month delivery promise (where Barloworld was honest and indicated that it could take up to 4 months). After 2 months we started quering the status of the order. All we wanted to know was our position on the waiting list for the vehicles, which is readily available to ALL customers. We must have called 20 to 30 times. Each time, our salesman Herman van Tonder told us he would call us back within 5 minutes as he is about to go into an important meeting. We sent emails too - which were not replied to. Eventually we asked to speak to the sales manager. He told us he would call us right back - and nothing! We then called Toyota South Africa and they simply told us they can not get hold of the Toyota Hatfield sales manager. Nothing else!
We then contacted someone at McCarthy Toyota Gezina, who gave us our position on the waiting list within 5 minutes.
This is perhaps the must useless sales team we have ever encountered. There is ZERO effort made from their part.
