I had an urgent parcel that I needed to get to me before the weekend. It was posted via Speedservices on Thursday and I paid extra to have it overnight so I can get it Friday. When I phoned on Thursday they said it will definitely be with me on Friday. Friday - nothing - Saturday - still nothing! The parcel took a day to get from Pietermaritzburg to Durban, then it took another 24 hours to get to Port Elizabeth and if I am lucky - according to a very rude Beatrice from Speed Services Call centre, I might get it on Monday in St Francis Bay.
When you book the parcel in for dispatch and give them the address where it should go and you pay for overnight delivery do they not tell you that it won't happen! Is it ok to the customer's money? They know for a fact it won't be delivered within 24 hours to certain destinations but they still let you pay for 24 hour delivery! It seems nobody has pride in their work anymore and work ethics just don't exist at all. as much as you can from customers and to with the rest - that is the new attitude in South Africa.
