We decided to sell our 2008 Tata Safari 2.2 4x4 diesel. The dealers in Lichtenburg told us they would not trade in any Tata, due to the fact that a used Tata does not sell. We also tried [URL Removed] - sorry not interested".
I asked Tata Lichtenburg for a trade-in, but they were not interested. Between my insurance and Tata Lichtenburg, there is more than R20 000 difference in value. No one can give me a definite value.
Not even Tata wants to trade-in a Tata! I called Customer Care (Anel) and the response was that they cannot help; the dealers can do as they please. Then Tata Lichtenburg called and made me an offer of R35 000 but when the buyer saw the vehicle, he declined the deal due to the nose that is breaking off.
I am forced to sell my Tata Safari for R30 000 (the highest I can get) but the value is between R85 000 and R112 200. This is due to the make of the vehicle and the fact that the nose is breaking off. This is a STRUCTUAL FAULT on the Safari, but Tata concluded that the stabilizers needed replacement. The nose is still breaking off.
Tata is getting away with poor service and a vehicle for which they will not take responsibility!!
