The service at VW Tavcor itself is absolutely amazing, but as much as I love my new vehicle, I am very disappointed. Had the 1.t TSI Golf 6 before with great fuel consumption. Just upgraded to the Tiguan 1.4 TSI that should have similar consumption. In fact, the specifications stipulate 6.5l per 100km. This equates to 15.4km/l. I have filled up twice on this car and managed to get 560km and 580km out of the tank of fuel. This is 64 litres of fuel that I have poured in. According to calculations and the website, I should get 985km to a tank. I do understand that this may be extreme, and I would realistically get less, and town driving in some instances could play a role, but not more than 400km less on a tank. I am getting 8.9km/l on the vehicle. I have taken it in and been told that it seems like all is in order and I must check again by fuelling up to the first click which I am currently doing, but I am already heading to the 3/4 tank mark on 100km. The MAIN factor I had in choosing my vehicle upgrade was FUEL consumption, and this is unacceptable. What can VW do about this? Something is not right. Sort it out or i'll have my money back before interest.
