I bought my brand new Ford Fiesta in April 2012 from Eastvaal Motors in Witbank. I then started experiencing a lot of electrical problems about 3 months after buying the car. the electrical faults included a battery light coming on while driving, steering light coming on and locked in the middle of the road, car cutting out on its own while driving. i have had the whole steering wheel mechanism replaced and a new alternator fitted. Ford's solution to my problem was cancelling my warranty as i had a tracking device installed.
i feel that Ford just shifted the blame instead of assisting me with this problem as i clearly was sold a car that had many problems. i believe that installing a tracking unit in ones car is an acceptable practice in the Motor industry. i re-opened my case with Ford SA with their escalations manager Nathaniel Struwig. i am being sent from pillar to post as he is never available on the phone. i think that Ford drivers in SA should be made aware that their warranties will be deemed null and void by virtue of them installing a tracking device that is "not Ford approved" bearing in mind that none is Ford approved. very dissapointed in Ford's treatment and service.
