Renault South Africa
Total incompetence

Last week Thursday (22 August 2013) my Renault Megane would not start.
I'm not an expert on cars and had it towed to my nearest Renault dealer on the Friday. Unluckily it was Renault Northcliff. I did not manage to get an answer out of them on Friday.
Monday they phoned me and told me that my fuel pump needs to be replaced, and that all my cables are burned. I have an extended warranty on the car, which after the news of the burned cables said they will not cover me. They quoted me R7203 to replace the fuel pump. After charging me R615.60 to do a diagnostics on it.
I don't have R7203. So I contacted the dealer I bought the car from and asked them to help me. It is now Wednesday and the car is working. Turns out that the one connection pin of the fuel pump was not bent properly and therefore did not make contact. It took the dealer I bought the car 5 minutes to figure this out.

I demand my R615.60 back as this was total incompetence by Renault, causing me huge amounts of stress and discomfort. Left without a car for almost a week because a "qualified" Renault Mechanic is too lazy to check the connection pins!
This is blatant exploitation, and I will not leave it here.
