Volkswagen
WAS IT A?

I bought a Golf 6 GTI 2009 Model from VW McCarthy in Umhlanga with 30 000 km. At 107 000 km I started getting warning signs on the speedometer. "Engine Fault" & "Maximum Rev 4000 rpm". I immediately took the car to Hoopers for 105 000 km service and asked them to check it. They told me they could not find the fault and I had to continue monitoring it, keeping the fuel above Quarter tank. I did that and the problem persisted. I went back to them and they told me they did not know what the course could be.

The car started cutting power and is now making noises in the engine. I unfortunately am now out of my warranty, only to learn that there were three other people who had the same problem as me, two of them had their engines replaced by VW. Was I by sending me back until I was out of my warranty so that the engine change would be on my cost? I have always been happy with Hoopers service on my car accept on this 1 incident. I need answers on this. Why were other engines changed and mine was not? What do I do now that I am out of warranty and the problem is worsening, something that could have been sorted while I was still covered by a warranty. Please help Peter! Desperate!
