Volkswagen
Golf 6 GTI 2012 Model Clutch

On 14/06/2013 my VW Golf 6 GTI was serviced at NTT VW East London for 30 000km and on the 29/06/2013 the vehicle broke down as a result of the clutch pedal that wouldn't push up. Vehicle was then towed to NTT VW in East London to check on the clutch not pushing up. It was then diagnosed by Julian that the clutch was burnt and this was picked up by him smelling it without even checking or testing the vehicle. They then told me pay R 2000.00 to have my vehicle stripped and checked for the fault which I refused to pay because the vehicle is still under warranty. When they finally stripped the vehicle they then told me the clutch was burnt and is due to wear and tear and when I challenged this report I was then told it was not wear and tear but my ''driving style''. This is my fourth VW product since 2006 and I have never experienced anything of this sort. I still have a VW Golf 5 which is 214 653km and never had a problem with clutch as my driving skills was much better than this vehicle's driving skill. The 2010 VW Polo that I had before the GTI 6 had over 180 000km on the clock with no problem also. The assessment by the engineer at VWSA was based on the photos suppied by NTT VW EL
