I purchased my Lancer in September 2012 as a used vehicle. When I bought it I asked if it came with the balance of the maintenance and service plan and was told yes, but only until the standard 3yr maintenance and 5 yr service/100k.
I was happy with this because I didn't think I would do that much mileage so quickly.
At my 2nd service I complained of a problem with the suspension, specifically the lower control arms and the windscreen wipers. When I got the vehicle back they said they found no problem with the steering/suspension and that the windscreen wipers had been sorted out. This to me, means replaced.
Now, at my 3rd service, I am told that I don't have cover for things like brake pads/disks or windscreen sipers because they are wear and tear items.
If I had known that when I purchased the car I would've had a different opinion of what I was getting for the price.
I can't afford to pay the R5k for brakes (which I apparently need urgently) and the R400 for windscreen wipers. Considering none of these items are made of materials that quantify their price I am now forced to use non-genuine parts on this car.
Disgraceful that ALL information is not provided when you buy a car!
