My Renault Koleos' handbrake suddenly stopped working and warning light came on. Took the vehicle to BB Auto, who took two days to tell me it was irrepairable, and that it was going to cost a whopping R 15 000.00 to replace. They further claimed that second hand parts were not possible as the part had to be electronically paired in France and sent. Daunted by the cost we were forced to ride around without a handbrake for two months.
As a result of a previous cpmplaint we were forced to service our Renault in Polokwane 140km's return because the Polokwane branch claimed that their Tzaneen branch only 35km's was incompetent and unqualified to attrnd to my vehicle.
It is ironic that it was the Mechanic at the Tzaneen branch who told us that he suspected it was not neccessary to replace the part as it was a common problem, and that it could often be fixed by removing dust from the sensors. True to his word, the car was fixed in a few hpurs for just over R800.00 almost 1/20th of the price we were quoted from the "QUALIFIED" and competent dealer.
BB Auto is well known for replacing parts when it is not neccessary, and whether this is as a result of incompetence or dishonesty. U decide.
