On 23 November I was selected by Ashleih Maharaj or better known as Seshni to work as a nanny/domestic
i agreed and the contract was signed. She was very happy to employ me and even showed me her house.
She emailed Karen on Friday the 29th outside working hours to get a reference. Karen informed me that the customer had a slight doubt about employing me. I wanted to go for more interviews as I felt that the customer may not like me 100%. Seshni was contacted and she was informed of my decision. After this she phoned me several times to ask me to come and basically would not understand that I now needed to work for a family that I felt comfortable with. My reference was checked out by Karen and she was Happy. However Seshni implied that I was only an employee and had no right the same as her in life. Karen very upset defended my rights... why should any person even myself as an employee be seen as the lessor. I THOUGHT THAT EQUALITY WAS THE NEW SOUTH AFRICA. Karen is strict but we get jobs and the best about Karen is that she does not make a sale unless we as staff can only be happy. Seshni threatened with internet reports. Too bad for Seshni as she now still wants me back
