I remember having a waffle at Kirstenbosch tea room last year and raved about it all year, knowing that it wasnt cheap at R48.
Wednesday afternoon after spending the day at the gardens I ordered a waffle. Unfortunatley to my disgust it was nothing like the waffle I had months earlier, in fact it was like no waffle ive ever had before.
I assume the reason being that they did not use waffle batter, as I often make my own at home, but rather substituted it with some other batter, cake/muffin/cupcake, im not sure but I do know it was NOT waffle batter.
It did not taste like a waffle and more importantly it did not have a waffle texture.
After paying R48 each and having ordered two! I expected alot more! And just one scoop of ice cream as well!
I usually pay R26 at Mugg&Bean for a way better waffle
It was so disappointing to have such an awful waffle after looking forward to it for so long and having remembered it to be so good.
I assume it was because it was a weekday that the quality was so poor as the previous time I had one was on a sunday when the tea room was bustling.
Im disgusted that they are able to charge so much for such bad food.
