I visited Durban during my vacation and I decided to dine at Adega Gateway as I'm a frequent visitor at the Adega Midrand which has nice service and good food. I ordered a special that was on the website - Chicken Prego Roll with chips with "Adega Special Sauces". I was served a piece of chicken in a Portuguese roll (Similar to Nandos), the sauce was awful and did not resemble any special sauce, it was brown and floury, lacking no spice and flavour. When I received the bill I was charged R69, instead of R39 as the website stated. The waiter was a bit confused so the manager informed me that there had been an error on the Adega website, and further that this restaurant was a franchise and halaal so the prices and specials were different. However he gladly gave me at the special price, which I appreciated. I will still be visiting the Adega in Midrand and I believe that Adega Gateway should improve its menu to be more in line with the true Adgea style.
