Our incident actually happened approximately two years ago but only being a recent subscriber to this site I really want to put it on record because it was the worst dining experience I have ever had at a restaurant. My company rewarded me with a dinner for two so I decided to take my wife out for a special meal at Adega. Well I could write a three page essay on our experience but I will try and summarize the dinner. Paper napkins, stale bread after having to ask for it, unfriendly attitude from our waiter, waiting extremely long for my burnt small crayfish and my wife's cold steak. When we were presented with the bill I got up to pay at the counter by credit card and specifically said to the manager and waiter "no tip" on the bill of approximately R650 to which he looked at me horrified and asked why not. When we told him about everything he did apologize and said that they had a staff shortage that night including the chef but that was it. Nothing like please come back again and we will give you a 10% discount or anything. No reply from Adega head office either from my mail that I sent detailing our complaints. NEVER again will I dine at ADEGA.
