My colleague and i share a birthday. she had told me a few days ago that she was excited about getting her free coffee from Vida E due to her having a loyalty card. I had been trying to get a loyalty card from the Wembley Square branch but they were always out of stock. Eventually I managed to get one yesterday and asked the guy if i would be able to claim my free coffee today. He was so friendly and helpful and said that although my card might not be registered I must come to him on my bday and he would sort me out with a free coffee.
So today, my colleague and myself go across to Vida. We are greeted by 4 surly Vida employees. My colleague says hi and tells them that its her bday. The one employee responds "so? ". She says please can i get my free coffee. She gets her coffee, and i get mine and am about to walk away when the one employee barks at me and says that i havnt paid. i said but its my free coffee from my loyalty card - he says its not registered yet and that i must return the coffee. i am now more than mortified and return the coffee. A customer in the queue calls me back and says she has paid for my coffee. i have NEVER been so embarassed before. Will never go back
