My name is Mrs A C Erasmus, I have an account with First National Bank which is open for many years.
In 2008 I signed a contract with First National Bank for a Smartspend Loan. Unfortunately my circumstances was of such degree that I could not make payments towards the account for some time.
No one from Smartspend Loans (First National Bank) made any efforts to call me and try to make arrangements with my consent. This month now 5 years later they decided to debit R4760.64 from my account leaving me with a balance of R202.00 in my account. I contacted their legal department and asked them why they deducted this large amount from my account and how they expect me to survive the rest of the month, they just answered that they had the right to deduct this moneys due to me making no payment, after asking her why no one tried to contact me to make a reasonable arrangement she told me that it soly my responsibility and not theirs, I then requested them to please refund some of the money due to the fact that I have rent to pay groceries to purchase etc, she declined my request without having any compassion, this is inumane!!! Stay away from FNB!!!
