My husband went for debt review in 2009, we got married 2012. I am trying to assist him with his debts so we can buy a house.
I emailed Standard Bank and asked to give me settlement figures for his accounts.
The response was a shocking NO! I was advised that since I am married in COP then I should also be under review. Which one takes longer - settling account or applying for a review?
Why is Standard Bank concerning itself with who is and who is not under review if arrangements are being made to repay?
1. Loan account that is being paid for under debt counselling is not reducing and strange enough the settlement amount in Feb was R6385.99, March settlement amount is R10863.08?!!!??? Where is the R4thousand coming from?
2. Overdraft account has gone up to -R5000, this is an account of a person who had a savings account with no overdraft at all. After numerous attempts to get discounted settlement on this account, I have given up as no one responds.
Can Standard Bank please assist with
1. Reconcile its loan accounts with Fidelity and provide settlement amount &
2. Provide settlement on the absurd overdraft account
