Our garage got broken into on the night of 3 March 2013. Our security system are always activated and the security doors locked. They pried open the garage door moved behind my husband's "bakkie" as not to be detected by the security eye. Police found 2 sets of fingerprints and later notified us they caught a guy and that his fingerprints match those found in our garage.
Now started the claiming part. I submitted my clain to Santam on 2 April 2013, this due to the fact that we had to get quotations for everything we were claiming. Today is 16 April and the claim is still not completed. It took them more than a week to appointed an accessor to come and access our house. Take into considderation. our claim is just for R6276.97 and that this is our first ever claim with Santam since the more than 10 years we've been with them. They went through our whole house, took pictures, Asked for security company logs, manuels, phoned the guy that installed our alarm system, phoned my husband at work to verify stuff. I feel violated and like I'm being made the criminal. I almost feel like I shouldn't have dared clame.
