I recently went into a FNB branch to apply for a home loan. I was astonished with the consultant did my application and was declined based on "does not meet FNB policy". I have been a loyal customer of FNB and have all my accounts with them, i never had a problem with any service or delivery from FNB, have all my accounts up to date and even recommend to family and friends that they should consider changing banks. I never expected that my first home loan would be declined. It more like how can we not help you. Also, the FNB ad is very misleading in that it sows how easy it is to switch to FNB, you get vehicle finance, ebucks, home loan click of a button but they dont say that you will be declined based on not meeting policies. I have a credit card and overdraft with FNB which also uses the same criteria/policy so how is it possible to not grant a home loan.
