Its happened to me 3 times now. I use eWallet as my emergency fund account. This literally means i use it when i need money. Last week i had forgotten my wallet in JHB when i went down to Durban for a family funeral. I was not stressed because i had enough money in the eWallet to keep me going. On my return when i needed the funds i started at the BP in Cato Ridge to withdraw and kept getting an error message, tried 3 times. On the 4th try the message said i must go to my nearest FNB! Really, on a Sunday afternoon! I was told to try the Cato Risge Spar FNB ATM which i did and still nothing. Now i only have 100km left in my tank! I start panicking and call family member to find some assistance (remember i dont have an other bank cards with me) I drive to PMB and at Brisley Gateway Center i try yet again NOTHING, my sister tells me they have changed how the PIN is give and to try again and she sent R100 for me to try and again nothing! Tried at Sasol garage on College St after 2 hour it eventually worked. This needs to be addressed because my nephew and nieces use the same service when they go out and its worrying that this could happen to them. Something has to be done!
