Before going to London last year, I called Absa credit card department in May 2012. I wanted to know credit card charges while abroad. I was told to draw money from ATM's rather than swipe my card. I then came back to credit card service fees in excess of R1000. I then went into the branch in Canal walk and spoke to the credit card department. I was immediately informed on the phone that they had located the call record and it would be reviewed and that I would be contacted shortly after. After 2weeks of no response, I went into the bank again, but this time I was told that the call record had been lost. I then spoke to someone in head of department and was promised that I would be contacted again. Still no reply. I feel like I have been from and to! I want my money back for the misinformation I was given and then penalties incurred.very poor customer service!
