Standard Bank
Mistaken listing on Experian

On 7 March I learned from my bank that an application for finance cannot be processed as I was listed by Standard Bank on Experian. This has to be a new listing as I financed a car in October 2012 and had no problems.

Experian informed me that the listing pertained to an account that was opened in 1987! I am not and have never been a Standard Bank customer.

I contacted Standard Bank legal, was messed around a bit, but on my second attempt spoke to Fortune Ringane who confirmed that I was listed at Experian by Standard Bank, but that Standard Bank had no file one me so it must be a mistake. She requested that I send an email to Nicoleen Nair, which I promptly did.

Nair forwarded the same email to MmabathoAdelaide. Jegeh at Standard Bank for action. Nothing has happened since and I send a follow up email to Nair today, received a Read Receipt but no response.

1. Due to your unacceptable mistake I am suffering damages and you don't seem interested to resolve this matter or avoid litigation.

2. Even if I had opened an account with your bank from 1987, which I did not, you cannot list something that does not fall within the prescribed date limitations.
