I went under debt review in 2009 due to large amount of unpaid debts by my clients. I sold the property and car to clear all accounts and ABSA was the first one on the queue to clear and close all my ABSA outstanding accounts for both personal and company after servicing ABSA for 14 years. There was no mercy but feeling of being dumped plus extra R200 000 odd being taken away with no clue what it was for. After a year later, I received few sms from Absa's attorney, RL Daily Attorney, offerring me 30% discount on settling the account???!!! If there was any hidden costs that the bank was neglected to include under my debt review in 2009, it was not my fault and it is too late to recover due to 3 years prescription period. I am sure the extra amount of over R200 000 should cover the negligence if any. Being a platinum client and having the honor to clear the accounts, the bank should have the decency to contact the client explaining the situation instead of sending the incompetent and no service minded attorney to stalk me at work which they have no right according to CPA. If this bank's attorney caused me the job and embarrassment at work, the bank will be responsible.
