My father worked for Sanlam for almost 3 decades and always spoke highly of them. He fell ill mid last year and passed away at the end of the year. He took the time to discuss everything with myself and my sibling before he passed regarding his policies and wishes. He put all the necessary paperwork together and gave it to us as i think he felt his time was short. We have since submitted all the paperwork in December. Thanks to Nadia Samsodien, one of the policies have paid out. She was very helpful in getting this done. However, the death claim has been sitting with Sanlam for a few months, and the person handling it has been near impossible to get hold of. I have left him voice mails to get back to me, and this to doesn't happen. My father said it should take longer than a few weeks as he had all the necessary paperwork ready, yet this has taken months to get through and we still do not know when this will be finalised. After my experience, i would never take out any policies with Sanlam as I would not want my family to go through this nightmare.
