I erroneously deposited money into my mother in law's closed Discovery Card account. The money cleared and was subtracted from my account as normal and had I not realized this for myself I suspect Discovery Card would be that much richer without me ever knowing. The money is supposedly now in a suspense account, Discovery never declined the transaction or notified me of the error (CLOSED ACCOUNT for more than a year) and now that I have provided the proof, it will take Discovery Health (FNB) 7 working days (despite my complaints) to be refunded, this happened on the 26/02 already (altogether they will have had my money for 2-3 weeks). The support centre representative even admitted to thousands of such transactions in a suspended state, while Discovery Card obviously just sits and waits for people to come to their senses... or not... how is this legal?
