I requested a quotation during November 2012 on a retirement annuity policy. On the 15th of November 2012 I sent an email to the consultant asking him to cancel the quotation/policy as there was a change to my financial position.
Money was deducted from my account on 1 February 2013 and it took me until 25 February 2013 to sort out the issue and prove to Sanlam that I requested cancellation in good time. After numerous phone calls, faxes and emails the money was finally refunded on 27 February 2013. I phoned the call centre and they confirmed that the policy had been cancelled.
To my surprise the money was deducted from my account again on 1 March 2013.
What must I do to finally cancel this policy and have money refunded to me that was wrongfully taken from my account.
this is absurd, it feels as though Sanlam is my money and I have to incur time & expenses to try and get it back.
Your customer service and communication systems leave a lot to be desired.
