2 months and still no answer for a STUDENT LOAN

These days banks advertise how easy it is to apply for student loans, on the radio/T.V. and in the banks.
I applied for a student loan on the 4th of January 2013, the day after I got my results, to this day I have still had no answer. If my loan is declined that gives me no time for a plan B. One can't find R 55 000 over night.

My mother is a single mother who supports two children, it is very hard for one to come up with R55 000 for my college. I went to Danville Park GHS and received 2 distinctions being art 94 and maths 86. DUT/UCT/Stellies/Inscape Design College and all the other colleges and universities started before Varsity College IIE Students, unfortunately I still didn't have reply before my college and I myself had to pay for my books and first month of college.

I find it very amusing how one suffers to get a decent education, banks make it easy to apply for student loans yet it's not that easy. Not knowing if my loan is approved or not is a lot of stress on a family and a student of 18 years, especially if declined SO LATE! We would phone every day to speak to the consultant, and he would always be busy so I left messages after messages, no phone call back.
