Approximately 2 - 3 yrs ago, i switched cover from Dial Direct to Budget, due to better premiums. The person that handled the switch, assured me that i would have the exact same cover, because Budget is a sister company, but at a lower premium. i ALWAYS make sure that a have my swimming pool pump, borehole pump, electric gate motor and two geysers covered, and i use these items to compare premiums. When i phoned Budget today to find out how i must go about to claim for my swimming pool pump, i was informed that i do not have cover!!! During December I wanted to switch to another insurer, but was given discount on my premiums and excess, as "I am such a low risk client". When i phoned for the other quotes, i specified above mentioned items, in order to compare apples with apples. The lady I spoke to said they"d have to recall my phone-call to see if they did tell me these items were part of the fixture and covered under my building insureance. I can not remember during which conversation i asked to confirm that my pumps must be covered. Every year the premiums increase, although the value of my vehicles decrease, but when time comes to claim, they are full of excuses.
