I have been banking with FNB for 8 years, however over the last year I feel FNB has taken me for a fool and continues to do so. At the end of Jan 2012, I went to them to apply for a credit card, as I was struggling a little financially. I'm 24 yrs old and this was my first credit card, so I am not seasoned in contracts of this nature. The consultant got me to sign the contract, but all was not explained, e.g. payment would be via debit order on the 23rd of the month (I only get paid on the 25th), so even after I had deposited R700 into the card as a pre-emptive payment, I still got debited from my smart account, and then charged R450 in bank charges because it bounced. After I complained this was rectified and I got my money back. At the beginning of the month I got a statement saying I owed R330 in interest charges and R200 for ebucks membership. The interest is so high because my account is overdrawn, and that is due to the ebucks fee going through before my monthly payment. I must add that none of this is in my original contract. I thought ebucks was a free service. I feel FNB was not upfront with all the (hidden) costs involved, and is so quick to take my money. I feel cheated
