In this day and age, having to go queue in a bank to collect your cards is just bad service. Standard bank Thibault Square used to have a seperate queue for card and cheque book collections. Now, you have to go stand at inquiries where on average eac person takes about 20 minutes to be serviced and no matter what time of the day you go there are between 10 to 30 people queueing.
Who has time to stand in a queue for an hour to 2 hours to collect a card??? The sad thing is for the bank, the longer I don't have my card, the less money the bank makes off of my use of credit.
Standard bank should really provide alternates - FNB not only allows you to switch to them effortlessly but they deliver your card to your door!
I've been with Standard Bank for a long time but this lack of service is making me question whether I should stay.
