Vehicle finance terminated despite payment (avaf)

My Late Mother had a VW Golf financed via AVAF (old Bankfin). She passed away on 07/04/2012. The death was reported to Absa Voortrekkerstreet Newcastle (Ansie Stander - who helped me with other queries as well, Thanks Ansie for your assistance) A year later, I received a call from Absa Legal, requesting a death certificate and letter of executor ship, this was later forwarded to Karabo Matlala. During this period, the vehicle was still payed via Internet Banking, with the account as reference number. During Nov 2013, my brother wanted to know what the settlement was and we where told that the vehicle was written off as bad debt. Upon spending almost a day on phone and visiting the local Absa branch and speaking to AVAF people in Voortrekker street branch, my problem is still not resolved. We also found out that an amount of R 79 000 was paid into the account and the car was settled. The short term insurance was cancelled and we cannot get insurance as there is no insurable interest. The lady whom did this, and whom failed to respond to our requests to contact us is Finazo Sigila. This is pathetic and no one wants to help us, how can this happen despite our efforts
