Good day,

I am laying this complaint on behalf of my mother, Eileen Naidoo.
She is currently in hospital after having collapsed due to being a diabetic and suffering high blood pressure.
Metro ambulance assisted my mother and took her to the hospital.
When she came to, she told me about being a member of SOS Assist and asked that I call you as she was paying a monthly premium and did not want to be at a state hospital.
After I had to call an 0861 number which is of no benefit in an emergency unless one has airtime, I discovered that SOS Assist is nothing but an ambulance service. An ambulance service is provided to us for free and we did not wait hours. Firstly, I want this service cancelled with immediate effect and all premiums paid thus far deposited back into her bank account.
The services offered were not properly explained to Eileen Naidoo and we want proof that you sent all terms and conditions via e-mail or post. Please resolve this matter as soon as possible as the manner in which you sign people up is against the Consumer Protection Act.
