Absa had been allowing unauthorised debit orders for quite a few years now. I lodged a complaint on hellopeter last year and it was resolved to my satisfaction i.e. the debit orders were reversed without me having to join yet another endless queue. Since then very same debit orders are allowed to go through yet again but due to an extremely demanding work schedule I simply cannot join the queue on a regular basis. I have asked for a new account number but according to an Absa manager, these rascals will follow me to the end of time - apparently even to FNB if I were to move my bank account.?? The pertinent question would be - where do the unauthorised dealers (not allowed to call them by any other name) get my personal details, if not from an insider at Absa?
