In June 2011 I closed my Absa Credit Card. Since then I have had no statements and have not received a card which confirmed to me that the account has been closed.
Some time last year (2013) I started receiving calls from the call centre telling me that my payments on my card has not been made and is overdue. I have repeatedly told the call centre that I have closed my Absa credit card account and can therefore not have any outstanding payments. This fact is usually met with some level of surprise and then a comment that a note will be made on the system. I eventually contacted the Absa Credit Card division asking for clarity. I received one e-mail with a letter attached from Zanelisiswe Mango which only stated that I have an outstanding payment. No further acknowledgement of my comments or complaints what so ever. I responded to this letter/e-mail by stating my problem and requesting a discussion. This has not even been acknowledged.
I am still receiving calls from the call centre, and these operators are still making notes on the system.
I find this situation infuriating as the Credit card division clearly does not care about my point of view.
