Nedbank
Judgement

My card was handed over to legal in 2010 due to my bussiness going under. A judgement was given against my name, now I am able to settle the amount but have asked for a discount or lowering in interest to try and pay it off faster. I was notified by Nedbank that they can give me discount but then they would not be able to give me a letter to rescind the judgement as I didn`t pay the full outstanding amount, so what is the use then of giving discount? Is this even legal, as far as I know, and I stand to be corrected if the judgement was issued for instance R20 000 and the Bank is willing to except a settlement amount even if it is 10 years later and interest was written off or discount given the Judge will be happy to rescind the order as long as the Bank issue a letter stating that it can be done. It feels to me that Nedbank are not willing to assist me in this matter at all. All I am trying to do, is to pay my debt and get my name cleared and credit record back on track. STD & Absa lowered my interest to 0% and FNB that is willing to give me a discount of over R407 500.00 and still be willing to give me a letter stating the judgement can be removed from my name, well done!
