I phoned Discovery Insure this morning looking for a quote for vehicle insurance. They told me that without giving them my ID Number that they cannot help me!
I find it shocking that they cannot give me a quote without those details. The response from the sales person was that the need it so that they know how old I am and my gender. I think I am pretty sure I am able to give him that information straight away in any case. I feel uncomfortable giving this information for a QUOTE only! Sure, if I sign up they can have whatever they want, but not for a simple quote that I might not even accept.
I am actually in the market to change not only my vehicle insurance, but also my Medical Aid to Discovery, but it seems they want a blood sample before I get any information and/or costs.
