I resigned in December 2013 from Capitec Bank to start my own business. I went to the bank first or second week of December to tell them that I would be unemployed for while as I was setting up my own business. I went to the branch to make an arrangement to pay R500 - R1000 per month on a R4800 installment. The consultant agreed. On the 25th of December they still deducted R4800 from my last salary after I made the arrangement. I called them to check on arrangement and they said it was not valid for a number of stupid reasons.
Today I received my provident fund payout, Capitec Bank once again deducted R4800. How do you deduct from somebodies saving without their permission? And what about the arrangement I made? This is money that is supposed to support me and my family up until the business is sufficient.
I used to work for Capitec and never used to understand why the clients always complained about the bank. Now I understand. They where so quick to hold me to the contract yet they have dishonored the arrangement twice.
What a pity! I used to be an advocate of the bank.
