On 17 Dec 2013 I called Clicks Insurance underwritten by Regent Insurance. It was a bad connection and the operator said she would get someone to call me back. Long story short, Theodor Mhlongo called and I informed him I'm calling to take up car insurance via Clicks and proceeded to give him my clubcard no. He assured me he had recorded it on the system. Well, what a that turned out to be. Then a car inspection was arranged with a guy in Durban when I'm in Cape Town? Again, I informed Theodor Mhlongo and Naledi Ramokopeloa of this as Regent cleverly states that you are not covered for or hijacking etc. if the car inspection is not done within 7 days, it is now 34 days and I have corresponded via email to cover myself. Then Peter John, OPERATIONS MANAGER calls once, leaves a voicemail re-iterating email as he is out of office quite often. Emailed him, no response, called him, no response. I should actually report this matter to the Ombudsman based on the fact that I have email correspondence to prove the and illegality of the policy sold to me. How many other fools are there out there getting conned in the same way. And yes, I am a Managing Director and I follow up!
