To whom it may concern, this is my second report / complaint regarding my Standard Bank Cheque Account. Before i moved to another bank i went to the branch and it wa full when i got to the office i called Standard Bank and the advised me that i can close my Standard Bank Cheque account telephonicaly, i then did so.after that i have been getting phone calls from standard bank saying my cheque account is in a negative balance when i closed my account before it was in a negative. This is affecting my credit record and i do not have money to pay that - amounts that is reflecting on my account that i closed. This is not my fault i called and i was told i can close my account telephonically and i was assisted, after changing all my debit orders and giving standard bank my new banking details they still debited my standard bank account heaven knows why now i have to pay and i did what i had to do, unfortunately i do not have money to pay that negative balance and i want to close that account with immidiat effect, Standard bank is liable for that negative balace cause i canged all my debit orders and also closed my account. I need assistance with this urgently as i was not at fault.
