I have been with ABSA for over 10 years and went through the entire FICA process when it was first initiated so the banks have all my details as initially requested.

In November 2012 I get a call from ABSA informing me I need to do FICA again in a week or my account will be frozen, the attitude from the consultant was completely unacceptable but I specifically took time off work to do FICA again as requested.

In January 2013 I tried to perform an EFT and all my accounts were blocked, the consultant said that I needed to FICA the account as this was not done, I spoke to a consultant at the branch where I FICA in November and submitted new documents again, my account was activated and I was able to do the EFT.

Now today in February 2013 I try to perform an EFT again and all my accounts are again blocked due to FICA. This is really unacceptable and unprofessional behaviour from ABSA as this is preventing me from paying my monthly accounts and becoming ridiculous that I need to FICA on a monthly basis.

ABSA, sort out your FICA problems as I see that there are a number of people with similar issues.
